Greenland's first hydrogen and fuel cell systems

Greenland's first hydrogen and fuel cell systems have now been inaugurated in Nuuk on 22nd March. Hydrogen for the plant is produced by decomposition of water in the electrolysis plant, where excess energy from Greenland's significant hydropower resources are used as an energy source – equivalent to the Danish hydrogen demonstration plants where, however, the excess wind energy is used.

Bass participates in Greenland project

Baltic Sea Solutions has signed an agreement with the Greenland Energy company, NUKISSIORFIIT, to establish the first hydrogen fuel cell based installation in Greenland. The demonstration plant, is supplied by the Danish company H2 Logic, Herning and is expected to be functioning by the end of 2009. The project is called “H2KT” as in its first phase it will provide electricity and heat to Nukissiorfiit’s administration building in Nuuk (called KT).

LoCal RE Summer Research Program 2009 Baltic Sea Solution is working with Innovation Center Denmark, Silicon Valley and six Californian and Danish universities on the LoCal RE Summer Research Program. This program takes place every year alternating between Denmark and California. In 2009 the program will take place in Northern California where the students will be hosted at UC Santa Cruz, UC Davis and UC Merced.
